15 Habits for Hot Girl Summer

Hello everyone. As you guys are probably well aware, the summer season is upon us. In light of the upcoming change of season, I wanted to share some habits that will help you feel and be at your best this summer. I love summer, and the more I think about it, the more excited I am to be alive during summer. Ninety-degree weather, green earth, blue sky, the pool, seasonal freckles, the sun beating down on me, the feeling of being bronze, outdoor workouts, and most importantly— no warming up and defrosting my damn car every time I leave the house. Anyway, here are 15 different habits we should prioritize during this hot girl summer. Let’s go:

Tanning

A summer glow is real. I encourage you to get your ass outside and lie in the sun for hours until you feel the sun literally creeping into your skin. There should be sweat dripping down your face, arms, and legs. Let the sun do its thing. This, of course, is good for getting in some vitamin D, but being a little sun-kissed also makes you hotter. I love looking naturally bronze in the summer. And pasty white girl winter has me a little extra excited about the days ahead spent lounging by the pool, eating licorice, and drinking Arnold Palmers. Also related to tanning, hot girls will be using environmentally friendly and low-toxic sunscreen. Better for you, better for the environment. Win-win.

Wearing What You Want

Word on the street is that hot girls will be wearing what they are comfortable and feel confident in this summer. Hot girls don’t care what other people think about their bodies in a bikini because no one else’s opinion of their body really matters. We only hate other people’s bodies when we hate our own. That’s just the truth. So wear what you want, show up how you want, and let that be enough. As long as you’re happy and like the way you present yourself, nothing else should matter. Whether you’re more comfortable in fewer clothes in summer or still want to wear the plaid pajama pants with your Woodstock shirt, ultimately it’s up to you. The point is, hot girls wear what they want.

Eat Real Food

Hot girl habit number three this summer is eating real food. I get that sometimes Pillsbury icing and Swedish fish are the sane option. But for the most part, hot girls will be eating real food. Fueling their bodies in ways that make them feel their best. Because we all deserve to feel our best. And eating real food doesn’t necessarily mean eating “healthy” or in a restrictive way. As I’m writing this, I actually just ate a bowl of homemade fudge for breakfast. I made it with real ingredients that I can actually pronounce the names of, and I consider that “real food”. This fudge wasn’t manufactured in a factory and sold in a plastic package. Which, again, there’s no shame in eating those things from time to time, but a majority of your nutrients should come from real foods. Let’s focus on taking the best possible care of our bodies this summer.

Movement

The fourth hot girl habit of this summer is movement. Hot girls move their bodies in ways they enjoy and help them feel their best. Taking care of our bodies is extremely important, and movement is a key component of our physical health. Movement offers us a multitude of benefits, both physical and mental. For example, exercise improves our cardiovascular health, reduces the risk of disease, strengthens our muscles and bones, enhances mood, relieves stress, improves cognitive function, and increases our energy levels. Hot girls move their bodies because they know they deserve to feel their best. They deserve the benefits that come from movement. We all do. Just make it a habit this summer to exercise at least 3 days a week in the ways you most enjoy. Go for a bike ride, hike, take a cycle class, go for a walk, lift weights, swim, or run. Whatever form of movement speaks to you, make it a habit this summer.

Clean Up After Yourself

This is so crazy. But for some reason, I keep hearing that hot girls clean up after themselves. They keep their space clean, wash their dishes, do their laundry, vacuum their room, and pick up any sort of mess they make. That’s just what I’ve heard hot girls are doing. That’s the chatter that’s been going around. So I guess we should make that a habit this summer. And maybe possibly just keep doing it too.

Drink Water

Hot girl habit number six: drink water. If we’re gonna be tanning, moving, and being outside and shit, hydration is that much more important. Drinking water keeps our skin healthy and glowing, boosts energy, aids in digestion, helps our kidneys filter waste, regulates body temperature, and keeps our joints lubricated. I hate that word. But basically, it means that water reduces joint stiffness and pain. Staying hydrated also ensures that minerals and nutrients are accessible and can reach different parts of the body, helps maintain blood pressure, and reduces the chance of a hangover in case we wanna have a silly, wasted girl summer too. Drink whatever beverages you want, just make sure you get the recommended amount of water too.

Five Minutes of Mindfulness

Alright, hot girl habit number seven: five minutes of mindfulness. An incredible habit to incorporate for both our physical and mental health this summer is daily mindfulness. This could be journaling, meditation, prayer, walking, or just a few moments focusing on your movements or a task at hand. Using just five minutes each day to simply be mindful of the present moment can reduce stress, improve focus and emotional regulation, enhance self-awareness, and allow you to feel calmer before you start the day. All great things. Therefore, hot girls will be practicing mindfulness this summer.

Skincare Routines

Skincare really is a hot girl habit in and of itself. Most of us, I’m sure, already have a daily skincare routine. To those of you who don’t—I encourage you to start one. Having a skincare routine is beneficial because it improves skin health and helps cleanse, nourish, and protect our skin. Plus, it just makes you feel hotter. It’s more so a form of self-care and mental well-being that just happens to be good for your physical health as well. It also adds a little bit of structure to the day, having a habit you do when you wake up, or before bed, or whenever. So yeah, hot girls wash their face.

Staying Organized

The ninth hot girl habit for this summer is staying organized. In all areas of life. Hot girls will be getting their shit together this summer. Organizing their space, their life, their calendar, all of it. Get your shit figured out. Make a to-do list. It alleviates stress, I promise. I’m most stressed when I know I have a ton of shit to do but don’t know exactly what it is I have to do. I’m also more stressed when my space is unorganized, and I have no idea what I have going on in a given week. Just make a to do list, write important dates and appointments in your planner, and do the shit that needs to get done. Be organized, be on your shit. Period.

Reading

I hate to say it, but hot girls are reading books this summer. Maybe even reading while tanning to habit stack. That’d be crazy. Anyway, get yourself a good book that makes the habit easier and exciting. I have a little reading list for this summer, and I’m rather eager to start the books I have lined up. Specifically, You Like it Darker by Stephen King and Jaws by Peter Benchley are gonna be must-reads for this summer. So march your happy ass up to Barnes and Noble or the library or wherever and pick out a book you’re interested in. It’ll be awesome. Not to mention the benefits of reading are further reasons to pick up this habit. Who can argue with improved brain function, stress reduction, better sleep, enhanced cognitive function, vocabulary expansion, and improved communication skills?

Stretching

Next hot girl habit on deck—stretching. I used to be a stretching hater, but genuinely, my body does feel better when I’m consistent with this habit. You feel more limber, mobile, energized, and less stiff. I don’t like to feel stiff. And hot girls don’t either. Benefits of this habit include increased circulation and flexibility, reduced stress and risk of injury, and enhanced athletic performance. So, make stretching a daily habit this summer.

Home Cooked Meals

Alright, the twelfth hot girl summer habit—cooking meals at home. If you don’t know how to cook, this summer is a great time to learn. Cooking meals at home not only saves money, but can also be somewhat fun. Learning and trying new recipes is one of my favorite things to do over the summer. Plus home home-cooked meals with whole food ingredients are a great way to nourish your body and soul. So get cookin’, ladies.

Dental Hygiene

Hopefully, most of us practice the habit of taking care of dental hygiene year-round, but just in case, I thought I’d throw this one in here. Hot girls brush their teeth, floss, and use mouthwash. Simple as that. Nothing more to say on this one.

Sleep

Fourteen—sleep. Hot girls get their beauty sleep. The whole 7-9 hours, when possible. Getting adequate sleep is important for many reasons—it supports immune function, helps regulate metabolism and hormones, improves mood, reduces stress, enhances cognitive function, and it’s responsible for the growth and repair of our cells and tissues. Our bodies physically rely on sleep to repair themselves, recover, and function properly. It’s no secret that we feel our best after a solid night of sleep. So, prioritize this habit for summer, because you deserve to feel your best. And all the hot girls will be doing it too.

Consuming What’s Good for the Mind and Soul

The last habit I’ll mention today is being aware of the content you’re consuming. Being mindful of the ways you spend your time. Are certain things you’re seeing on social media affecting the way you think and feel about yourself? If so, unfollow the accounts that make you feel this way. Do what you can to ensure the content you consume—social media, TV, music, etc.—makes you feel good and contributes to your wellbeing, rather than detracts from it. You’ll feel better, less heavy, less consumed, and less negative if you begin this habit.

Closing

Alright, guys, that was fifteen habits to implement or focus on for this hot girl summer. I hope you enjoyed this post and found some of the content helpful. Until next week, stay hot, stay sexy, stay flamboyant, and keep being you.
