The Moments That Made 2025

7–11 minutes

What’s good, everyone? As the year comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting a bit. And I got the brilliant idea to kind of look back on my year, what I’ve done, what the hell I’ve been up to, and then share what my favorite moments were. It’s been a fun year. I got to do some cool shit here and there, so I figured I might as well write about it. For no other reason than shits and giggles, of course. So here are, in no particular order, the moments that made 2025:

Chromokopia Concert in K.C.

Any day that I get to see Tyler, the Creator live is going to be one of the best days on earth. Genuinely, in my soul, I mean it when I say— there is no comparable feeling. His stage presence is insane, the way he moves up there is fucking fascinating. I wanna be this man when I grow up. Tyler is Him. And Chromokopia may be my favorite album he’s put out. So being able to see that live with one of my best friends was a blessing, a memory I’ll never forget.

Mardi Gras Weekend in Soulard

I love to day drink. Sue me. Call me an alcoholic. But, straight to the point, day drinking with your friends is one of the best feelings on planet earth. The human experience doesn’t get much better. Honestly. Mardi Gras is the perfect example. And as a Catholic, I can’t not celebrate. By far one of the best holidays.

Chicago Bank of America Half Marathon

You can get a glimpse of my opposing interests here. I just talked about how I love getting shit faced. Now I’ll talk about how I love running long distances for fun. Balance is beautiful. But anyway, I ran the Bank of America half-marathon in Chicago this past June, and I’m incredibly proud of myself for that. I had a wonderful time exploring Chicago and, of course, running 13.1 miles in it. Crossing that finish line was one of the highlights of the year. Because I am that bitch.

After Hours Til’ Dawn Concert in Chicago

I’ve been in love with Abel Tesfaye since he released After Hours in 2020. Because why was that album cover so fucking hot? Then he did the halftime show, and I became more obsessed. And then the obsession never died. When he released Hurry Up Tomorrow, I was fucking gagged. That album is incredible. And lucky for me, the same weekend I was in Chicago, so was The Weeknd. I’d be a clinically insane bitch not to get tickets to that. While the openers were rather horrendous, the concert was worth it. I love that man.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA Concert in St. Louis

This was a grand time. The concert itself was phenomenal. Literally once I have a Dirty Shirley in my hands, and I’m watching the greatest of all time in the flesh on stage— there’s no going back, my day has been made. Peak happiness. Also, super underrated song from GNX is Dodger Blue— please listen and let me know what you think. Anyway, I think I can die in peace now that I’ve seen SZA and Kendrick live. I’ve actually seen Kendrick three times. Not to brag. But I am bragging- let’s be real.

Avril Lavigne Concert

Avril Lavigne isn’t necessarily someone I’m obsessed with. I’d classify her music as just alright. But I won’t lie to you. I had a great fucking time at this concert. Once you buy a $30 cocktail and start acting goofy, you just know you’re gonna have the time of your life. And that’s exactly what I did.

PCB Trip

PCB was a hoot. I’m not crazy about the south or sticky humid weather, but this little spontaneous trip to the beach was a good time. In essence, I was made for the beach, so getting my fat ass in the sand this summer is obviously a highlight of mine.

Washington Town and Country Fair

The Fair is always one of those things you love or hate. And I fucking love rides. I cannot stress this enough. Going on rides is not reserved for children or teenagers. It’s reserved for me. So naturally, going on any ride is making it into my top moments of 2025. Maybe even for my entire life. I love rides that much. Roller coaster, Ferris wheel, doesn’t matter— I love it all.

Nashville Trip

I’d never really experienced Nash in full until this past September. And I had a lovely time. Drinking, eating, dancing, shopping, drinking some more. Loved every minute of it. I think Tennessee is an icky state— but who am I to complain, just give me a drink. However, that drink will cost you $20. And yeah, I did pay it. And I’d do it again for a cocktail. I’d do almost anything for a cocktail. But, hey, that’s just me.

Mizzou Homecoming

My friends mean the world to me, and I don’t see them enough now that I’ve graduated. And that fucking sucks. But it only makes homecoming that much more fun. I love to see my little ladies. And then drink with those little ladies. And Field House was missing me just as much as I was missing it. Do I care about football? Not at all. Do I care about day drinking with people I love and dancing? Yup!

St. Louis Blues Game

I went to my first Blues game in October and really had the best time ever. I was in such a silly, goofy mood. So grateful for the experience.

Haley’s First Half Marathon

I had so many reasons to be bummed out this weekend. And honestly, I was a little bit—after all, I was supposed to run this with Haley. However, injuries happen, and I was unable to participate in this half-marathon. That didn’t mean the weekend was ass by any means though. I ended up having such a great time. And I think it’s important to learn to cheer on others. Sometimes it’s okay to be the person on the sidelines rooting for everyone else as they reach their goals and go after what they want. I think I needed to learn that. So I made a cute sign to cheer on my sister and everyone else who came out to run. And I had a fucking blast in doing so. My sign was well received, too, which made me feel really fucking cool. Lastly, after her race, we had a little celebration meal at home. It was a good time. A solid memory for sure.

Thrifting and Singles Night in St. Louis

So, back in November, my friend and I went to this singles night event in St. Louis. But we kinda made a day out of it—thrifted, got coffee, went to dinner. And that was the fun part. The actual event itself was amusing yet depressing. But we made some friends—ladies, of course. Because why were the women the only ones worth talking to at this event? But anyway, after that, we went to Rehab and shot the shit for a while. But I had such a fun day. Won’t be doing that again— yet I’m glad we made an evening of it.

Eating the French Onion Shroom Burger from Shake Shack

You may be thinking—Madison, you fat fuck, why would this possibly be a highlight of your entire year? How dramatic. But no drama—this is the single best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. Period. Done.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was fucking insane this year. A lot of diabolical lore surfaced that I think we all should be made aware of. I won’t get too far into that, though. I will say that on one side of the family, I had the best time at Thanksgiving. I love catching up with everyone, seeing my cousins, chatting, drinking wine, and eating good food. Vibes were high, energy was good. My other Thanksgiving gathering, not so much. And I leave it at that.

Cousin’s Wedding

So I’m a bitch who loves a wedding. And my cousin’s wedding I went to on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, was one of the most fun I’ve been to. The ceremony was beautiful, the food was good, my outfit was gorgeous, there was an open bar, I had a blast dancing and chatting, and getting into shit. This was one of my favorite nights of the entire year. I love my family, I love dancing, and I just had the greatest time.

Solo Trip to NYC

So I took my first-ever solo trip this year. I went to NYC in the first week of December and did a lot of neat shit. I hopped around—did some shopping, went to a few museums, saw the Rockettes, went to some Christmas markets, and just explored the city on my own time. I ate good food and made good memories. What more can you ask for? I also bought a lot of dope ass rings. But anyway, to hear more about all the cool shit I did, check out this post!

12 Bars

Did 12 Bars for the first time this year. It was cold as fuck, I’m not gonna lie to you. However, I had a great time. Drank a few more mules than maybe I should have, but I just love to dance and drink—which is exactly what I got to do.

My Birthday

I’m pretty notorious for crying on my birthday; however, this year I actually had such a great day from start to finish. I went to the gym, made breakfast, went to the spa, got coffee with my sister, made dinner for my family (I love to cook), did some shopping, and went to get frozen yogurt. It was a solid day—no tears, no drama.
