Hey everyone. I have to be so for real. This week I didn’t have the brain capacity to write a super thought-provoking and research-intensive topic for you all. That’s okay though because I’ve been told that these fun little bullshit posts are more entertaining to read anyway. So this week, I’m gonna share some things that I enjoyed from this past month. The things that made me smile or laugh or just made my days better in any way. This list consists of entertainment, food, things that happened, things I did, pop culture, and some other random bullshit. Compiling this list was pretty fun, and it’s also a good way to reflect on the month.
So here are the things I loved this February:
1. Chromokopia Concert in K.C.:
From start to finish this concert was immaculate. The openers—Paris Texas and Lil Yachty were phenomenal, and Tyler’s set was insane. Of the five times I’ve seen him live–this performance was one of my favorites. You can tell the amount of effort and passion that he puts into his music, and watching that come to life on stage is beautiful. I loved the bit where he used the record player to transition into performing some of his older songs. I thought that was incredibly creative, and the crowd ate that shit up. I honestly can’t wait to see him again. Seeing him live makes me so incredibly happy. Not only because of the music but because of his attitude, his personality, his thoughts. Again, it’s not like I know him, but I like him. Anyway, this concert was my favorite night of the month for sure.

2. Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show:
This was the best halftime show I’ve ever watched. (The Weeknd’s is a close second). Obviously, people’s opinions will differ across the board, but that’s just the kind of music I like. Kendrick is one of the musicians I listen to most, so to see him perform at the Super Bowl was incredible. I feel like for so many years, we’ve had to sit through some dumb shit like Maroon 5 or Usher. I could not care any less about seeing them perform the halftime show. But this year was different. It was a reason to actually be excited for the Super Bowl because I do not give a flying fuck about football. Sue me.

3. Chobani White Chocolate Raspberry Coffee Creamer:
This has topped my list of favorite coffee creamers I’ve tried to date. The Chobani seasonal creamers never fail to disappoint, and I fear this is indeed the best one. I’m a white chocolate bitch, though, don’t get it twisted. The seasons changing is always a reason to be excited and lively, yet even more so because you just know Chobani is dropping some wild ass off-the-wall creamer flavors that aren’t going to be available year-round. You might be wondering why the fuck I’m so passionate about coffee creamer, and to be honest, it’s because it’s a necessity to my morning cold brew, which happens to always be one of the highlights of my day.
4.These Cookies (NYC Style Pistachio):
As some of you may know, I’ve been dabbling in the world of baking. I made these NYC Style Pistachio cookies this month and while they were kind of a mess and a mild pain in the ass, they were such a delight. And also pretty. Sweet and nutty flavors pair so well together and these cookies were no exception. Some of the ingredients were a little hard to get my hands on, so I had to be creative with the pistachio paste. Meaning I just made my own. I think all the work was worth it, though, because they were fucking divine. I’ll have to make them again sometime soon.

5. Castle Rock on Hulu:
So back in January, I finished watching Penguin, which is probably one of the best shows I’ve seen. Then I got in a funk because absolutely no show I started was anywhere near as good or captivating. Fortunately for me, a friend recommended Castle Rock, which I started this month and I’ve been hooked since episode one. She had me at “Bill Skaarsgard’s in it”. I love him, and am scared of him at the same time. Anyway, the show is a bit confusing but anything Stephen King or Maine horror-esque is my cup of tea. I did have to read a synopsis after I finished the series because there was a lot to unpack, but overall it was a really good show.
6. Taylor Swift Getting Booed at the Super Bowl:
Not to be a hater, but shit was funny as fuck. Personally I think people getting booed in general is almost always funny, but especially this occasion.
7. Making Sandwiches with Leftovers:
The best way to make a sandwich is with leftover rotisserie chicken, swiss cheese, pickles, and honey mustard. I’ve had this same sandwich 4 times within the past 48 hours. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
8. White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies:
I love these cookies and this specific recipe particularly because it uses coconut oil and coconut sugar, giving it that hint of coconut that pairs well with the macadamia and white chocolate. It’s also not too sweet because it uses coconut sugar instead of brown and white sugar, which is something else I love. So I can eat them all day without going into a sugar coma. The coconut oil also keeps them moist (sorry to those who hate that word), which is my favorite quality in a cookie.

9. Strawberries and Cream Lindor Balls:
Lucky for my sweets lovin’ ass, these were 50% off after Valentine’s Day. I can see now when the best time to restock my candy jar will be.
10. Volunteering:
Madison—- doing things for others… that doesn’t sound right. Well, guess what bitch, I can be a “good” person at times. All kidding aside, I haven’t volunteered in years but I did have a lot of fun doing the Harvest Table a few weekends ago. It was memorable and it’s something I want to do more often.
11. Sunrise Strawberry Alani Nu:
My mom got me a few for Valentine’s Day and I have never tried this flavor before. And I was pleasantly surprised. It might be one of my top favorites along with Tropsicle, Cosmic Stardust, and Watermelon Wave.
12. Favorite Day Chocolate Truffles:
The perfect sweet and salty midday pick-me-up. Or before bed treat. Or any time of day snack. Eat them whenever the hell you want but the fact stays the same—they’re good as fuck.
13. The Simpsons:
For me, watching the Simpsons comes in waves. I’m not always feeling it. This month though, I have been. And Season 36 does not disappoint.

14. ASAP Rocky Being Found Not Guilty in Trial:
God knew a man who dresses that well had no business wearing a jumpsuit for the next 25 years.

15. Hurry Up Tomorrow-Weeknd Album (specifically Take Me Back to LA):
This album was a lot better than I thought it would be. I was a little scared that all 22 songs would sound the same, but that was not the case. Favorites of mine from the album were Take Me Back to LA, Niagara Falls, I Can’t Wait to Get There, and Baptized in Fear.
16. Open Mic Night at the Washington Coffee Shop:
Laughed so hard, which I love doing. I can’t wait to go again next month.
17. Alesis by Mk.gee:
I discovered this song because it was on the list Tyler, the Creator made of his favorite songs from 2024. This was the only song on the list that stuck. It really is beautiful. Listen to it and let me know what you think.
18. Katie’s Pizza and Pasta Osteria:
I hadn’t been to this restaurant in a long time before I went to St. Louis for Mardi Gras this past weekend. The drinks were immaculate, the pasta—incredible, but the oysters…life changing. I had never had an oyster before this weekend, and I am walking into March a different woman. My friend and I loved the oysters here so much we went back for more the next night after eating dinner at Carmine’s Steakhouse. Fuck dessert, we’ll have more oysters please.
Closing:
Okay, guys. That’s that. Eighteen things I loved this February. I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. I had a lot of fun putting this list together and I encourage you to make a list of your own because it’s important to reflect on the things that make you happy each day. No matter how small or insignificant it may seem. What sparked joy for you this February? Let me know in the comments.
Til next time soldiers.
